SSC Notification: Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Examination 2014, Selection Process, Exam Pattern

SSC JE (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Examination 2014: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to hold a combined all India open examination on 25/05/2014 for recruitment of Junior Engineer in the Disciplines of Mechanical, Civil and Electrical for various departments. Selection of eligible candidates will be done through Written Examination followed by interview. Only qualified candidates in written examination will be called for interview. Interested candidates having suitable qualifications may apply for this post through the website http://ssconline.nic.in on or before 26th March-2014 upto 5 PM. Qualifications for Junior Engineer in following Disciplines & Departments
01.  JE (Civil & Electrical), CPWD: Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Diploma from a Recognized Institute.
02.  JE (Civil & Electrical), Department of Posts: Diploma of 03 years in Electrical / Civil Engineering.
03. (a). JE (Civil), BRO, Ministry of Defence: Civil Engineering Diploma of 03 years. (b). JE (Electrical & Mechanical), BRO, Ministry of Defence: Engineering Diploma of 03 years in Electrical / Mechanical Disciplines).
04.  (a). JE (Civil), MES: Civil Engineering Degree from a recognized University OR Diploma of 3 years in Civil Engineering with 2 years Experience in Planning, Maintenance and Execution of Civil Engg. Work. (b). JE (Electrical & Mechanical), MES: Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree OR 03 years Engineering Diploma in relevant disciplines with two years experience. (c). JE (QS&C), MES: Diploma of 3 years in Civil Engineering OR  Qualified in Intermediate Exam in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Div.II of Institute of Surveyors (India).
05.  JE (Civil & Mechanical), CWC and Farakka Barrage: Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 years for Civil & Electrical in CPWD & Department of Posts. Not above 30 years for Civil, Electrical & Mechanical in MES, maximum 32 years for Civil & Mechanical in CWE and Farakka Barrage, 18 to 27 years for Quantity Surveying and Contract in MES. Relaxation in age for reserved category will be applicable as per rule i.e. 5 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC Categories. Age and age with relaxation will be calculated as on 01/01/2014.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern: Selection for this post will be made trough written examination of 500 Marks and Interview of 100 Marks. Written Test includes two papers. Paper-I of 200 marks will be Objective Type and Paper-II of 300 Marks will be Conventional Type. Have a look

Candidates are required to attempt only one subject of General Engineering in Paper-I and Paper-II. There will be negative marking in Paper-I and 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Those who qualify in written examination will be called for Personality Test (Interview) which will be of 100 Marks. Candidates belonging SC/ST Category will be paid TA for appearing in the interview.

Application Fees: Applicants are required to pay application fees of Rs.100 through SBI Challan or through SBI Net Banking. Candidates belonging to SC / ST category, PH and all women candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
